Green Day is an activity packed day about climate change and the built environment. It aims to make schools more sustainable and all of us more environmentally aware through whole school activities and cross-curricular learning.
Over 120,000 pupils across England took part in Green Day on 5 June 2009, World Environment Day. This year will see an even bigger Green Day launching on Friday 4 June 2010.

Green Day is designed to be flexible for schools. Our activity kit is packed full of whole school and subject specific ideas to help plan a Green Day. It offers a menu of over a hundred activities for KS1, 2 and 3 which teachers can choose between and adapt. It contains lots of useful links to other resources and is also a great resource for staff INSET and training.
A brand new and even bigger activity kit will be available here from mid March 2010.
Any school can hold a Green Day! Schools are encouraged to hold their Green Day on Friday 4 June 2010 - the day before World Environment Day - although you can hold yours on any day up to Friday 2 July 2010.

CABE will be offering support to schools that want to run a Green Day in June.
Between March and May 2010 teachers can attend a free half day workshop held at venues around the country. These workshops will prepare teachers to hold a Green Day and support them in working to make their schools more sustainable. If you are unable to attend a workshop, free training materials will be available online.
