Wanted: bad buildings and spaces

19 June 2006

To mark the launch of our campaign The cost of bad design, we want to know about your least favourite buildings, streets or spaces.

Everyone can think of a building they hate or a place that really depresses them, where they'd like to call in the bulldozers. To mark the launch of our new campaign, The cost of bad design, we want to know about your least favourite buildings, streets or spaces. Send an e-mail baddesign@cabe.org.uk to tell us about a place that's a design failure. Tell us why it doesn't work, and attach a photo if you can. We'll be showing a selection here on this site and at the campaign's launch event.

Our accompanying publication, The cost of bad design, features essays from built environment experts that highlight what happens when buildings and spaces go wrong. The cost of bad design will be available to order or download from 20 June.

We are launching the campaign with an Architecture Week debate on Monday 19 June, 6pm-8pm at CABE's offices. David Lammy, Culture Minister, will be giving the keynote speech, and there will be a lively panel discussion about what happens when buildings and spaces go wrong. After the event, there will drinks and an opportunity to carry on the discussion. Attendance is free but space is limited so please register if you'd like to come.

For press enquiries please call Dan Thomson on 020 7070 6772 or 07906 550 433.
