Awards offering funding for a work or study trip to places where design is central to the creation and management of public space.
We believe that good design should be at the heart of all our public spaces. But many people working to shape public spaces don't get any formal design training.
CABE Space wants to change this. We are offering professionals in these fields the chance to travel to gain greater understanding of design, whether they are highways engineers, planning officers, park workers, access officers, leisure and amenity officers or regeneration professionals.
The CABE Space design skills scholarships offer funding for a work or study trip to places where design is central to the creation and management of public space. We are looking for people without formal design training who can use this experience to help bring good design to their own work and to inspire others in their field.
CABE Space design skills scholarships offer practical understanding and experience of how good design can benefit the public realm through the study of good practice abroad.
Applicants for a design skills scholarship must be English residents working in a role that has a significant impact on the public realm.
Applications closed in December 2008 for the 2009 CABE Space design skills scholarships.
Eight scholarships were awarded by CABE Space in 2008.
