Sure Start children’s centres: a post-occupancy evaluation
The government is funding 3,500 new Sure Start children’s centres by 2010 in support of its ambitious plans to give pre-school children the best possible start. This post-occupancy evaluation by CABE for the Department of Children, Schools and Families presents the views of parents, staff and design professionals on the new facilities. It will be of interest to architects, centre heads, local authorities and the government and includes lessons applicable to future capital building programmes, including other education buildings such as primary schools.
