Yorkshire and Humber has the greatest area of national parks in England alongside a network of towns and cities.
Many of its urban environments have transformed radically through regeneration programmes, but the range of quality in its built environment remains the region's largest challenge.
Regional representatives
- Helen Farrar is a chartered landscape architect and regeneration professional, with skills in design advice and training, community engagement, and strategic regeneration.
- Atam Verdi is a chartered surveyor and partner with property consultants King Sturge, and works in the urban regeneration and development consultancy sector.

Architecture centres
We fund the following architecture centres:
- arc, Hull
Promotes and fosters quality in architecture and public space in the Humber region. - Environmental Assistance
Provides expertise, advice, education and training to communities and individuals working to protect and improve their natural and built environment. - Beam, Wakefield
Helps people make better places through learning and education, the promotion of good design, and the imaginative use of the arts in the public realm. - The Shed, South Yorkshire
Works with communities across the South Yorkshire region, and with schools and young people in particular, supporting them to become more confident in helping to shape, maintain and make buildings and places more beautiful and sustainable.
We also fund the Architecture Centre Network, a development and advocacy organisation for the architecture centres.
