We commission and publish research that demonstrates the importance of design and work with others who have a similar agenda.
Our research deepens understanding of the impact that design of places and spaces has on our lives. This includes the everything from the economic benefits of well-designed streets to the social costs of badly-designed housing.
We also rigorously evaluate our own work to ensure that we remain a high-performing organisation.
Our housing research includes new thinking on delivering high quality homes during a recession and assessing the quality of what’s being built.
Our research focuses on demonstrating the economic, social and environmental benefits of good quality public spaces and establishing an evidence base to monitor the true state of urban green space in England.
Our work has ensured that inclusion and equality is at the heart of CABE’s work. We are promoting inclusive design through projects such as an assessment of diversity within the built environment professions.
We focus on how sustainable urban design and management can deliver climate change mitigation and adaptation whilst also contributing to sustainable place making.
