St Peters Riverside is a major riverside regeneration project located on a significant brownfield site in Manchester. The masterplan is organised around several blocks of residential apartments, supported by a ground-floor active frontage that provides shops, cafes, and other local amenities. Above these active frontages, the development includes office spaces that serve the city's commercial needs. This mix of uses ensures that the riverside remains active throughout the day and evening, creating a 24-hour destination rather than a segregated dormitory.

Design Principles

The architectural approach is guided by three core principles:

  • Permeability: The ground floor is designed to be open and inviting, with wide glazing and clear pedestrian routes that encourage people to walk through the site rather than around it.
  • River Connection: Every residential block is oriented to maximise views over the river and the wider cityscape, with balconies and large windows that bring the riverside into the living spaces.
